Jon and Amber

So I learned to weld, I can work with wood.  I swapped out the guts of one car to another.  And now my most grand adventure ever.  I have successfully grafted a human infant foot onto my cat!  Check out the photo:

Jeremy had his 2-month checkup last week and is doing great. Not only is he healthy and happy, but he’s huge!

Weight – 15 lbs 7oz (99th percentile)
Length – 24¼ inches (93rd percentile)
Head circumference – 16½ inches (90th percentile)

So while he is rather big for his age, he is totally proportional… for a FOUR MONTH OLD! LOL

This has nothing to do with Jon and me, but it’s pretty cute and I wanted to share it here for anyone who has ever known or been a teenager – hah!

Well, last week I got 1st place in the Volksport show in my class. Today I went to the Eurowerks show. But it was about 2 to 2.5 times the size. In addition, there is any Euro car, not just VW/Audi. There were some VERY high end cars there. I would guess in the low to mid $200k mark. On top of that, they ONLY had first place for particular decades. That is, 70s, 80s, 90, 00s. Then best of show and people’s choice. So trophies were scarce compared to the VS show. They did have a chunk of awards for various things. I managed to snag the “Best Sleeper”. For those that don’t know, a “sleeper” is a car that looks like not much was done to it, but really it kicks butt! In addition, I got the “Tricycle engineer” award for best trike. You can see pics of the trike below in the posts. It was a great time all in all. It is really neat to see how similar yet how different it is between VS and EW (Volksport and Eurowerks).

Jeremy is 7.5 weeks old right now, and I grabbed a little video of him today after I changed his diaper. He always gets really excited when he sees the polka dot decals on the wall above his changing table! In this video, he is wearing a Happy Heiny’s One-Size pocket diaper – I love the cowhide print!

I had car show today with my local VW group.  The focus is VW’s, though there are some Audi’s and one or two Porsche’s.  I got 1st place for my category:  MKIV Jetta.  That is, generation 4 Jetta.  This is the second thing I have EVER won in my entire life.  The other was fist place for Carpentry state-finals when I was a senior in high school.  That was 1993.  I managed to take 7th place in nationals, but that is another story.

I drove home today and it is running great!  I have a few minor things to take care of, but it is over 95% done.  I can’t believe it is almost done.  I got rid of the old scrap parts, and I sold the old engine and misc parts.  Did I really just do all of that? Â
