Burning Man update
So we got back from Burning Man at 11:30pm last night. Overall, it was a decent year. Both Amber and I felt it was a so/so year as far as art was concerned. I must say the weather was great at night, and not too bad during the day except for one big storm. There was some rain and a double rainbow as well. The original pic is here.
We had a blowout of a tire on the trailer on the way down. No problem, 5 min later I had the spare on and we were on our way. Well, on the way back, we had a second blowout. The good news is that the wheels from the skateboard actually fit on the trailer, but the bad news is that they are not rated for freeway speed. I put one on, limped down to a store that we found that had what we needed, and an hour and a half later, we are on our way again.
One bad thing at Burning Man is that I broke an axle on the skateboard after three days of riding. It was a catastrophic failure. That is, there was NO way I would have been able to fix it on-playa. So that gave me half of the week out there with no ride.
Oh well, I did get 3 solid days of use toting people around all over with the four trailers. Amber has some vid and we will upload it a bit later.
Now the terrible news, just go to burningman.com and see next year’s theme. In Hank Hill’s voice “Just kill me now”.
