How about a belly picture?

Published by Amber under pregnancy

Here I am, 28 weeks pregnant. And hey, still no stretch marks, and my belly button is still an “innie” – how’s that work?!

I fully expect at least a few stretch marks before the end. And maybe a lot. I won’t be sad when it happens, because I know it’s almost certainly going to happen… but for now, it’s pretty cool to just have a big shiny white basketball under my shirt!

28 weeks and all’s well

Published by Amber under pregnancy

We had our 28-week OB checkup today. (That’s 70% of the way to 40 weeks, for anyone keeping track.) Amber and Baby are both doing well. Good blood pressure, good weight, and a strong, active boy – He never sits still for long!

This week, all measurements seemed to be right on track – no gigantism or anything crazy like that! The doctor said that the last few times when things seemed to be measuring larger than expected, Baby was most likely just doing a Jack LaLanne pose for us (see image), stretching out the womb and making him look bigger than he really was (“Soooo big!”)… I wouldn’t doubt it one bit, either. ;)

We grow ‘em big in Minnesota

Published by Amber under pregnancy

Twenty-five weeks pregnant today – that’s 62.5% of the way there, for anyone keeping track. Baby is active, strong, and BIG! He’s strong enough to wake Amber from her sleep in the middle of the night. At our checkup today, everything measured almost 3 weeks bigger than expected for this date (last time, he was also a bit bigger than expected).

All our dates are correct, but the doctor is thinking about ordering one more ultrasound in about a month, just to make sure everything is fine. She’s not too concerned though, because Baby has reliably been bigger by just a couple weeks’ measurements for the last month or two, so things seem to be pretty consistent.
