Poll: Should Jon go to the last car show of this season?
OK, so I have not been updating much lately. I have been reluctant to brag about winning these shows I have been to. For those that don’t know the background story, I built my .:R32 wagon with the intent of just simply driving it and that being that. But now that it is done, it turned out WAY better than I would have originally guessed and it has been a big hit all-around.
I have been to four car shows so far since the beginning of summer. I have won 6 trophies. Granted, one of those was not directly car related, but it was for the crazy trike I built. So anyway, I have won 5 trophies for the 4 car shows I have been to so far. Still might good considering I never really had any intention on making it a “show” car. For most of these shows, I was up against 10 to 20 cars in my class, MKIV Jetta. Granted, that is not a TON of cars to compete against. So I looked at this show H20i and I said to Amber that if I won 1st place at Treffen (the most recent show) that I would consider going to this show. Last year, there were 996 cars total. Compare that with the 120 or so that were in the first show and the 200 or so that were in this most recent show. I think that is my main reason for wanting to go out there. To see where things really are. Is this a fad? Is it just a local deal? I don’t know.
For anyone that doesn’t know me well, I would be leaving my wife home alone with a 4 month old.
So…… Make your vote, should I go out there or not? I would suspect it would be 4 to 5 days total from the time I leave to the time I get back. And just for the sake of argument, let’s leave any money concerns out of the picture.
